Joel Westheimer is a professor, author, and columnist who studies the role of education in democracy and civic engagement. He has taught in New York City and Stanford, and lectured at many prestigious institutions and media outlets.
Joel Westheimer is a full professor in the Faculty of Education, former University Research Chair in Democracy and Education, and education columnist for CBC Radio's Ottawa Morning show. He is an elected member of the prestigious U.S. National Academy of Education and a fellow of the American Educational Research Association.
