Frank Emmons Overton (March 12, 1918 – April 24, 1967) was an American actor. He was best known for the roles of Major Harvey Stovall in Twelve O'Clock High (1964-1967), Sheriff Heck Tate in To Kill a Mockingbird (1962) and General Bogan in Fail Safe (1964).

PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif., April 29 (AP)--Frank Overton, co-star on last year's television series, "12 O'Clock High," died in his home today, apparently of a heart attack. He was 49 years-old.
12 O'Clock High: With Frank Overton, Paul Burke, Chris Robinson, Robert Lansing. A WWII bomb group commander must fill the shoes of his predecessor and get the performance rating up to snuff. He struggles with his own men, until he is able to develop pride in the group and win the men over, but at a cost to him.
