    Prof. Dr. Ulrich Schwarz earned his PhD in theoretical physics of soft matter. During his Postdoc at the Weizmann Institute (Israel) from 1998-2000, he started to work on modelling cell adhesion, which was also the subject of his Emmy Noether junior research group, which moved into the BioQuant in 2007.
