Stemming from his interest in human energy, Tom Lieber creates works that evoke notions about the way we experience, feel, receive and express. While in Berkley, California from the 1970’s to 1980’s, he became connected to Aikido, Jazz, and various other forms of awareness-prompting energies.
Tom Lieber received an MFA from the University of Illinois in 1974 and shortly there after relocated to San Francisco. In 1975 Lieber was a recipient of the National Endowment for the Arts artists’ grant and in 1982 was selected for the Emerging American Artists’ Exhibition at the Guggenheim Museum in New York.
