Children of Forever is the debut album by jazz fusion bassist Stanley Clarke. It was recorded in December 1972, and was released in 1973 by Polydor Records. On the album, Clarke is joined by vocalists Dee Dee Bridgewater and Andy Bey, flutist Arthur Webb, guitarist Pat Martino, keyboardist Chick Corea, and drummer Lenny White.

"Children of Forever" starts as a soul-infused mid tempo vocal that quickly explodes into a hefty upright bass and keyboard workout with Dee Dee on the left channel and Andy on the right.
In 1973, Bey and Dee Dee Bridgewater were the featured vocalists on Stanley Clarke 's album Children of Forever. Later, Bey recorded the album Experience and Judgment (1974), which was influenced by Indian music. [3] . He then returned to hard bop, and recorded covers of music by non-jazz musicians, such as Nick Drake. [4]
Definitive approach to spiritual jazz with such luminaires like Andy Bey & Dee Dee Bridgewater....reminiscent of the Black Jazz label artists and format. Great approach with zero intentions of going commercial but following his own musical identity at this early juncture in his career.
