Francesco Cabras (born 27 May 1966, in Rome) is an Italian actor and film director. He played the role of Gesmas on Mel Gibson 's The Passion of the Christ, [1] the chief of the rebels in Kurt Wimmer 's Equilibrium, and Grigori Rasputin in Louis Nero 's 2011 film Rasputin.

At 20, along with studies in Psychology he starts working as a journalist and photographer writing about music, cinema, social and environmental issues. He creates photo and video campaigns for Greenpeace and other NGOs as Terre des Hommes, Amref, MedReact and IFAD. His exhibitions have been held in Italy and abroad.
