Little Rock Central High School ( LRCH) is an accredited comprehensive public high school in Little Rock, Arkansas, United States. The school was the site of the Little Rock Crisis in 1957 after the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that segregation by race in public schools was unconstitutional three years earlier.
Little Rock Central High is a school rich with history, academic excellence and diversity. The structure, built in 1927, has been added to the National Register of Historic Places and is also designated by the National Park Service as a National Historic Landmark.
At the time it was built, it was the largest high school in the country, a record it held until the late 1940s. It was renamed Little Rock Central High School in 1955 when construction began on Hall High School in western Little Rock.
