Jay Sommers (January 3, 1917 – September 25, 1985) was a US-American producer, director and comedy writer whose career spanned four decades. He wrote more than 90 television comedy episodes, produced 63, and was creator and producer of the Green Acres television show.
Jay Sommers (born October 15, 1967) is an American professional stock car racing driver. He competed in the ARCA Permatex SuperCar Series in the late 1980s. After winning the Michigan Lottery in 1988, he used his earnings to bankroll racing endeavors in NASCAR.
Green Acres is a classic comedy series about a New York couple who move to a farm in Hooterville. Jay Sommers created and produced the show, which ran from 1965 to 1971 and starred Eddie Albert, Eva Gabor, Tom Lester and others.
