Josh Sternfeld (born Joshua Sternfeld in 1972, New York City, New York), is an American film writer/director. In June 2021, Sternfeld directed the action film Fortress: Sniper's Eye (2022).

Josh Sternfeld developed an interest in filmmaking as a teenager, and studied at NYU Graduate Film School, where he wrote and directed the award-winning short film Balloons, Streamers.
Josh Sternfeld, a Senior Program Officer in the Division of Preservation and Access, joined NEH in 2009. Prior to his arrival at the Endowment, Josh was Assistant Director and Postdoctoral Scholar for the UCLA Center for Information as Evidence and Information Studies Department.
Apr 25, 2022 · Sternfeld makes his action film debut with the follow-up Fortress: Sniper’s Eye, starring Bruce Willis, Jesse Metcalfe, and Chad Michael Murray. Sternfeld won critical acclaim when his first film, Balloons, Streamers (1997), premiered at the 1997 New York Film Festival and then screened at the 1998 Sundance Festival.
