William Blake Everett (/ ˈ ɛ v ər ɪ t /; May 18, 1917 – February 27, 1973) was an American comic book writer-artist best known for creating Namor the Sub-Mariner as well as co-creating Zombie and Daredevil with writer Stan Lee for Marvel Comics.
Bill Everett’s thrilling first adventures of Namor and other strips in the pre-WWII years, his finely detailed storytelling throughout the 1950’s, and his resurgence in the 70’s, shortly before his passing at age 55, show a master of the medium at work. His art, and his Sub-Mariner, endure.

Bill Everett was a penciler and writer for Timely Comics, Atlas Comics and later for Marvel Comics. His first book at Timely was Marvel Comics #1, where he was the writer and artist who created Namor, the Sub-Mariner.
Sub-Mariner, American comic strip superhero created by Bill Everett for Timely (later Marvel) Comics. The character’s first appearance to a general audience was in Marvel Comics no. 1 (October 1939). The Sub-Mariner was created by Everett for a promotional comic called Motion Picture Funnies.
