Dave Hackel is an American producer and screenwriter. He is best known for creating, writing and producing the CBS sitcom Becker, which starred Ted Danson and ran from 1998 until 2004. Hackel grew up in Delaware, Ohio.
Dave Hackel's producing credits include such long-running hits as Paramount's comedy series 'Wings' and 'Dear John.'. Hackel's first writing assignment for a series came in 1978 for the 'Barney Miller' spinoff, 'Fish,' starring Abe Vigoda.
