Samuel Gerald “J” Jones (born August 12, 1954), is an American actor and former football player. He is known for playing the title character in the 1980 film Flash Gordon and for starring in the short-lived TV series The Highwayman (1987–1988).
Sam J. Jones is best known for playing Flash Gordon in the 1980 sci-fi film. He also appeared in Ted, Jane and the Lost City, and other movies and TV shows. He is a former US Marine and the CEO of an international security company.
