Lloyd did remain with Stories for one more album – Traveling Underground (1973) before leaving the group. Bassist Kenny Aaronson (b. April 14, 1952, Brooklyn) (formerly of Dust ), who had performed bass on the "Brother Louie" cover, and keyboardist Ken Bichel (b. 1945, Detroit) stepped in to fill the void.

Like before, Stories came out with an R&B-minded single that doesn't sound anything like the rest of the album it's on.

Both tunes contained deceptively complex instrumentation that included more tasty guitar and keyboard work, and (for the latter tune) odd time signatures and ever-changing rhythms, thanks to drummer Bryan Madey and seasoned bassist Kenny Aaronson (Derringer/HSAS/Dust).
