Moustapha al Akkad (Arabic: مصطفى العقاد, romanized: Muṣṭafā al-ʿAqqād; July 1, 1930 – November 11, 2005) was a Syrian-American film producer and director, best known for producing the original series of Halloween films and directing The Message and Lion of the Desert.
Moustapha Akkad was the producer and director of The Message (1976), a film about the life of Muhammad, and the creator of the Halloween franchise. He was killed in a terrorist attack in Jordan in 2005 along with his daughter.
