The Kerala Story is a 2023 Indian Hindi-language drama film directed by Sudipto Sen and produced by Vipul Amrutlal Shah. It stars Adah Sharma, Yogita Bihani, Sonia Balani, and Siddhi Idnani. The plot follows a group of women from Kerala who are coerced into converting to Islam and joining the Islamic State.
Sudipto Sen is an Indian writer-director, who came into the limelight after the release of the teaser of his controversial Hindi film The Kerala Story in November 2022, which was based on thousands of girls from Kerala, who were forcefully and illegally converted to Islam for recruitment to the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS).
