Born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on September 10, 1897, pianist David L. Snell studied at the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music, Wisconsin College, and the Meyer Conservatory of Music. In addition to leading his own orchestra and serving as a musical director for stage productions, Snell was conductor, composer, and music director for M-G-M for 21 years.
