Pastpresent is a sheet music book, published to coincide with the album and video of the same name. The book provides sheet music for all songs from the album except "Stepping Stone". The book is now out of print. Credits in the books vary depending on the edition, of which there are two.

“Past Present” is the second Clannad compilation to feature the song “In a Lifetime”. “In a Lifetime” was also re-released as a single in the UK to promote the release of this compilation.
It was released as the third single from Clannad’s 1985 album “Macalla”. The single was released in January 1986 peaking at number 5 in Ireland and at #17 in the UK singles chart. In 1989, “In A lifetime” was re-released to promote the compilation “Pastpresent”.

An Irish band comprising three siblings and their twin uncles, Clannad have been making music since the seventies and were especially big in the eighties when they performed the music to the TV series `Robin of Sherwood'.
