Wanuri Kahiu (born 21 June 1980) is a Kenyan film director, producer, and author. She is considered to be “one of Africa's most aspiring directors, being part of a new, vibrant crop of talents representing contemporary African culture”.
Born in Nairobi, Wanuri is part of the new generation of African filmmakers. Her films have received international acclaim and have screened in numerous film festivals around the world. To date, Wanuri has written and directed six films and is working on her second feature length film
