P.C.'s son, Alfred J. Richard ("A.J.") was born in 1909. A.J. grew up in the business alongside P.C., serving customers from a very young age. A.J. expanded the hardware store by selling the first irons, radios, toasters, refrigerators, washers, dryers and other consumer electronics and appliances as they became available in the marketplace.
