Amber Blanco White ( née Reeves; 1 July 1887 – 26 December 1981) was a New Zealand-born British feminist writer and scholar. Early life. Reeves was born in Christchurch, New Zealand, the eldest of three children of Fabian feminist Maud Pember Reeves (née Robison; 1865–1953) and New Zealand politician and social reformer William Pember Reeves. [1]
Reeves was sentenced to 10 to 15 years in prison for manslaughter and child abuse in the October 2018 death of 14-month-old Logan Tracy.
May 13, 2016 · A Lady and Her Husband draws a vivid and unusually optimistic portrait of women’s changing role in early 20th century British society. Although not what one could claim a page-turner, the novel is nevertheless an engaging read and an excellent addition to pre-war feminist studies.
First and Last Things was written at a time when Wells's "private life was to a considerable degree in turmoil." Amber Reeves, his lover, who inspired Ann Veronica and would in 1909 bear a daughter by Wells, was a brilliant student of philosophy at Cambridge University's Newnham College.
