Athar Nawaaz is an Indian actor, writer, and director. He was born on February 25, 1953, in the city of Lucknow, India, the proud offspring of Shri Hafiz Abdul Ali and Smt. Zaibunnisa. Raised in a sprawling family with seven brothers and one sister, Athar's formative years were steeped in the rich tapestry of family bonds and values.

Athar Nawaaz was Anil Kapoor's script supervisor for the first season of the Indian version of 24. As well as writing, he has also acted in several films.
Nawaaz studied at Shia Higher Secondary School & College and Government Jubilee School. In 2008, he started working as a Dialogue Supervisor for Excel Entertainment. In 2010, Nawaaz started working for Anil Kapoor Films Company as a Dialogue Writer and Creative Consultant. He worked as such on Kapoor's film, Fanney Khan.
Aside from his work as a writer, Nawaaz has had brief roles as an actor. He appeared on films like Shaukeen, Party, and Karthik Calling Karthik.
