In 1977 Philip joined his father at Shaltz Fluid Power(Shaltz Automation) in Flint and took over the reins in 1979 where he currently holds the position of President. Philip was recruited to help raise funds for the Crim Road Race in 1983 and became an instant supporter of their cause.

MEDC Corporation Board meets annually to evaluate the MEDC’s performance via standards set by the Executive Committee, and may review Executive Committee acts if necessary. Representatives are appointed by the 59 MEDC interlocal partners and by the governor and include the MEDC Executive Committee. Members serve at the pleasure of the governor.
