In his pre-teen and teen years, Jerome Jones sang hip-hop-infused R&B songs, most notably the 1994 hit "Never Lie," with his two friends Batman (Marques Houston) and LDB (Kelton Kessee) as Immature. In a somewhat bewildering move, Jones re-christened himself Young Rome, in order to distance himself from his Immature days.
