Feb 4, 2020 · UC’s ambitious Troy expedition was launched at the behest of former UC Classics Head William Semple and his wife, Louise Taft Semple, niece to U.S. President William Howard Taft who served as dean of UC’s College of Law.
The project is funded by the Louise Taft Semple Fund through the Department of Classics at the University of Cincinnati, and the Institute for Aegean Prehistory, and runs under the aegis of the British School at Athens. Publication is planned in a series of articles at the Annual of the British School at Athens and other peer-reviewed journals.
