Daughter of ‘Golden Age’ director Tay Garnett and actress Mari Aldon, Tiela Garnett was born in Los Angeles where she grew up in the world of movies. She moved to Paris in her 20s and worked with a variety of talented people, including jazz legend Nina Simone and director Jean-Charles Tacchella.
Tiela Garnett is a child of Hollywood: daughter of director Tay Garnett, best known for his film noir classic "The Postman Always Rings Twice," and actress Mari Aldon. Tiela attended UCLA film school before moving to France after her father’s death in 1977.
