Basil Konstantine Poledouris ( / ˌpɒlɪˈdɔːrɪs /; August 21, 1945 – November 8, 2006) was an American composer, conductor, and orchestrator of film and television scores, [1] best known for his long-running collaborations with directors John Milius and Paul Verhoeven.
Basil Poledouris was a prolific and influential film composer, best known for his scores of Conan the Barbarian, RoboCop and The Hunt for Red October. He also acted in Star Trek and directed several short films.
