William Earl Owens (September 28, 1935 – April 7, 2021) was an American country music songwriter. He was the uncle of Dolly Parton . [2] Over the course of his career, he wrote or co-wrote more than 800 songs, [3] including “ Put It Off Until Tomorrow ," which he co-wrote with Parton.
