Dana Farwell Smith is an American stuntman and actor. He graduated from Coldwater High School in Coldwater, Michigan. He later attended a Saturday morning stunts program which would change his life and shape his career. With a background in motocross and karate he headed to Los Angeles to try his luck at a career in film and television.

Dane Farwell was one of several stuntmen that wore the Ghostface costume in Scream (1996), Scream 2 (1997) and Scream 4 (2011).
Farwell was one of three of stuntmen (along with the original Ghostface Lee Waddell, and Tony Cecere) behind the costume and playing Ghostface, in Scream, Dane also appeared in Scream 2 and Scream 4. He did not reprise the role as Ghostface in Scream 3. Brian Avery was the stuntman for Ghostface in the third film.
Farwell portrayed various killers in the film series. He also portrayed Sidney Prescott when she donned the costume to attack Billy Loomis. Farwell was responsible for giving the character most of its mannerisms, including cleaning the bloody blade with his gloved thumb and index finger after a kill. This was seen as pretty disturbing, so it was written into the script for copycat killers in future films.
In Scream 1, Tony Cecere, Lee Waddell, and Dane Farwell were the stunt guys of Ghostface. In Scream 2, Chris Durand, Lee Waddell, Dane Farwell, Ted Barba, Kurt Bryant, TJ White, Chris Doyle, Allen Richardson, and Rick Barker were the stunt performers of Ghostface. In Scream 1, the only scene he did was killing Kenny in Scream 1.
