Beverlee McKinsey (August 9, 1935 – May 2, 2008) was an American actress. She is best known for her roles on daytime serials, including Iris Cory Carrington on Another World and the spin-off series Texas from 1972 to 1981 and Alexandra Spaulding on Guiding Light from 1984 to 1992.

Those of us who had thrilled to her work as Iris Wheeler on Another World (and spinoff Texas) and Alexandra Spaulding on Guiding Light couldn’t give it up.

May 5, 2008 · Perhaps more notoriously, McKinsey was known for her outspokenness and a surprise exit from the world of daytime acting. Beverlee McKinsey (ex- Alexandra Spaulding, Guiding Light; ex- Iris Cory Carrington, Another World and Texas) died on May 2nd, of complications from a kidney transplant. McKinsey initially had kidney transplant surgery in 1998.
