Michael Showalter (born June 17, 1970) is an American comedian, actor, director, writer, and producer. He first came to recognition as a cast member on MTV's The State, which aired from 1993 to 1995.
Michael Showalter is a versatile and prolific filmmaker who has worked on comedies like The Big Sick, Wet Hot American Summer, and They Came Together. He is also a founding member of the comedy groups The State and Stella, and has written two books.
