Govind Arun Ahuja (born 21 December 1963) known mononymously as Govinda, is an Indian actor, comedian, dancer, singer and politician, who has appeared in more than 165 Hindi-language films. Considered one of the greatest and most culturally significant Indian actors of all time, Govinda is known for his slapstick performances and dancing skills.
Govinda ( transl. “finder or observer of cattle” ), also rendered Govind, Gobinda and Gobind, is an epithet of Vishnu and is also used for his avatars such as Krishna. [1] The name appears as the 187th and the 539th name of Vishnu in the Vishnu Sahasranama.

The name comes from the Sanskrit go, which means both “Veda” and “cow,” and vinda, meaning “finding” or “gaining.” Therefore, it translates as “finder of Veda” as well as “cow keeper.”
