Michael Ontkean (born January 24, 1946) is a retired Canadian actor, long-based in the United States. Born and raised in Vancouver, British Columbia, Ontkean relocated to the United States to attend the University of New Hampshire on a hockey scholarship before pursuing a career in acting in the early 1970s.
Michael Ontkean is a Canadian-born actor who played Ned Braden in Slap Shot (1977) and Sheriff Harry S. Truman in Twin Peaks (1990-1991). He also appeared in Making Love (1982), Willie & Phil (1980), The Descendants (2011) and other films and TV shows.
