Sandy Powell OBE, RDI (born 7 April 1960) is an English costume designer. In a career spanning over three decades, she is recognized for her prolific work across independent films and blockbusters. She has received numerous accolades, including three Academy Awards, three BAFTA Awards, and two Costume Designers Guild Awards.
Frequently works with Todd Haynes and Martin Scorsese since she served as costume designer for Haynes's 5th film: Velvet Goldmine (1998), and for Scorsese's 19th film: Gangs of New York (2002).
