Mistinguett ( French: [mistɛ̃ɡɛt], born Jeanne Florentine Bourgeois; 5 April 1873 – 5 January 1956) was a French actress and singer. She was at one time the highest-paid female entertainer in the world.

The name Mistinguett (Miss Tinguett), derived from a song in a musical show, Miss Helyett, was suggested by her allegedly English-looking, protruding front teeth.

- Rags to Riches. Though she made her living decked out in jewels and marabou feathers on stage, Mistinguett had humble beginnings. Born in the Parisian suburb of Enghien-les-Bains in 1875, her father Antoine was a day-laborer, while her young mother Jeannette worked as a seamstress.

Mistinguett, whose real name was Jeanne Florentine Bourgeois, was born in Enghien-les-Bains in the Paris region. She sang at the Casino de Paris in 1893 and then performed for the very first time at the Moulin Rouge in the “Revue de la Femme” in 1907 thanks to her meeting with Jacques-Charles, who was the “father of the modern revue”.
