Bernard "Ben" Turpin (September 19, 1869 – July 1, 1940) was an American comedian and actor, best remembered for his work in silent films. His trademarks were his cross-eyed appearance and adeptness at vigorous physical comedy.

Known for his trademark crossed eyes, U.S. comedian Ben Turpin was a vaudeville comedian who became the first slapstick comic in silent films. He worked for the Keystone Studio from 1916 to 1925 and continued doing movie work into the era of the talkies in the 1930s.
