Danielle Brooks (born September 17, 1989) is an American actress. Her breakthrough role as prison inmate Tasha "Taystee" Jefferson in the Netflix comedy-drama series Orange Is the New Black (2013–2019) gained her three Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series and three NAACP Image Awards nominations.
Danielle Brooks is an American actress, producer and director, best known for her roles in Orange Is the New Black, Peacemaker and The Color Purple. She was born in 1989 in Georgia, graduated from Juilliard and married Dennis Gelin in 2022.
