He is best known for playing a number of Doctor Who monsters and aliens including Bannakaffalatta in the 2007 Christmas special Voyage of the Damned, as well as the Graske in the Doctor Who spin-off series The Sarah Jane Adventures.

Jimmy Vee (born February 3, 1959) is a Scottish actor who portrayed R2-D2 in Star Wars: Episode VII The Force Awakens, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, and Star Wars: Episode VIII The Last Jedi, continuing the work of the late Kenny Baker. Vee stands at 1.12 meters tall, which allows him to fit into the can-like astromech droid bodies.
