Arthur Ian Lavender (16 February 1946 – 2 February 2024) was an English stage, film and television actor. He is best known for his role as Private Pike in Dad's Army, a BBC sitcom set during World War II, of which he was the last surviving main cast member.

Feb 5, 2024 · LONDON (AP) — Actor Ian Lavender, who played a hapless Home Guard soldier in the classic British sitcom “Dad’s Army,” has died, his agent said Monday. He was 77. Agent Hilary Gagan said Lavender had been ill for some time and died with his wife and sons at his side.
Ian Lavender was a British actor who played Pte. Frank Pike in the classic comedy series Dad's Army (1968-1977). He also appeared in other TV shows, films and stage plays, and died in February 2024 at the age of 77.
