Now closed to traffic, the Town lattice truss bridge formerly carried Guilford Road across Whetstone Brook, just south of Vermont Route 9. Built in 1879, it is Brattleboro's last surviving 19th-century covered bridge.

  2. This 80-foot long town lattice truss bridge over Whetstone Brook was built in 1879. A sidewalk was added many years later. It is Brattleboro’s only remaining covered bridge. It is no longer open to vehicular traffic, but it is still very accessible on foot. Its replacement bridge was built about 100 feet away.
