The St. Johns Bridge is a steel suspension bridge that spans the Willamette River in Portland, Oregon, United States, between the Cathedral Park neighborhood in North Portland and the Linnton and Northwest Industrial neighborhoods in Northwest Portland. It carries the U.S. Route 30 Bypass.
As the largest and earliest of Oregon's three extant suspension bridges, the St. Johns Bridge is one of the most significant structures in the state. The designer, internationally-famous David B. Steinman, identified this bridge as his favorite among all those he built.

With 40-story tall Gothic Cathedral Spires and graceful arches, the 7,360-ton steel St. Johns Bridge, which spans the Willamette River, was almost lost. Opened in 1931, it is the largest and most significant suspension bridge in Oregon.
This amazing example of neo-Gothic bridge design features two towers rising over 400 feet in height. The only suspension bridge in the Willamette Valley. One of three major suspension bridges in Oregon. It was designed by reknowned engineer David Steinman and has a 205 ft. navigational clearance.
