James Joseph "J.J." Brown (September 27, 1854 – September 5, 1922), was an American mining engineer, inventor, and self-made member of fashionable society. His wife was RMS Titanic survivor Margaret Brown.
J.J. Brown was a poor Irish immigrant who became a wealthy and influential mining entrepreneur in Leadville, Colorado. He married Margaret Tobin, also known as Molly Brown, in 1886, but their relationship ended in separation and divorce.
