Stoner rock, also known as stoner metal or stoner doom, is a rock music fusion genre that combines elements of doom metal with psychedelic rock and acid rock. The genre emerged during the early 1990s and was pioneered foremost by Kyuss and Sleep.

- Kyuss. Blues for the Red Sun, …And the Circus Leaves Town, Welcome to Sky Valley. 840 votes. Hailing from the sun-baked California desert, Kyuss emerged in the early '90s as pioneers of the stoner rock movement.
- Sleep. Dopesmoker, Sleep's Holy Mountain, Volume One. 453 votes. Few bands have embodied the spirit of stoner rock quite like Sleep. Since their formation in 1990, the trio of Al Cisneros, Matt Pike, and Jason Roeder (formerly of Neurosis) have crafted heavy, fuzz-laden odes to the mystical power of cannabis, such as their magnum opus, Dopesmoker.
