    Stephen F. Windon, ASC, ACS (born 28 January 1959; age 65) is an Australian cinematographer who served as Director of Photography on Star Trek Beyond replacing the previously announced Director of Photography Claudio Miranda.

    Windon is probably best known for his work as director of photography on The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift (2006), Fast Five (2011), Fast & Furious 6 (2013), Furious 7 (2015) and The Fate of the Furious (2017). On the first three films he worked for director Justin Lin and on the latter four with actor Dwayne Johnson. Windon received an Emmy Award nomination in the category Outstanding Cinematography for a Miniseries or Movie in 2010 for his work on the television mini series The Pacific which featured recurring actors Conor O'Farrell and William Sadler and producer April Nocifora. He also received an AMC Award from the American Society of Cinematographers in the category Outstanding Achievement in Cinematography in Motion Picture/Mini-Series Television in 2011 and a Golden Tripod from the Australian Cinematographers Society in the category Telefeatures, TV Drama & Mini Series in 2011 for The Pacific.

    Windon's early credits as a camera operator include Crocodile Dundee II (1988, with Stephen Root and Carlos Carrasco), The Rescue (1988, with Edward Laurence Albert, Timothy Carhart, James Cromwell, Christine Harnos, Leon Russom, and Ned Vaughn), and The Rainbow Warrior Conspiracy (1989).

    Early work as director of photography includes Kadaicha (1988), the television drama Prejudice (1989), episodes of Mission: Impossible (1989, starring Phil Morris and guest starring Mitchell Ryan), Police Rescue (1991), and Children of the Dragon (1991), Come in Spinner (1990), The Leaving of Liverpool (1992), Love in Limbo (1993), No Worries (1994), Rapa-Nui (1994), Naked: Stories of Men (1996), and Hotel de Love (1996).

    Windon started his international career working as director of photography on The Postman (1997, with Charles Esten, Ellen Geer, and Debbie David), Firestorm (1998), The Patriot (1998), and Deep Blue Sea (1999, with Ronny Cox and Frank Welker, produced by Akiva Goldsman, and stunt coordination by R.A. Rondell).

    Further credits include The Tuxedo (2002, music by John Debney), Anacondas: The Hunt for the Blood Orchid (2004, with Salli Richardson-Whitfield), House of Wax (2005), Needle (2010), A Few Best Men (2011), and G.I.
