Biography: Michael Gwisdek, born on January 14, 1942 in Berlin, was one of Germany’s most renowned contemporary actors and appeared in almost 150 cinema and television films. After studying at the Academy of Performing Arts in East Berlin from 1965 to 1968, he was engaged at the theater in Karl Marx Stadt (now Chemnitz).
Michael Gwisdek made his screen debut in the 1968 western "Spur des Falken" ("Trail of the Falcon"). He only appeared sporadically in feature films during the following years, yet he became a fixture on East German television. In 1975, he got his first major screen role in Kurt Maetzig's "Mann gegen Mann".
