The Ford Piquette Avenue Plant is a former factory located within the Milwaukee Junction area of Detroit, Michigan, in the United States. Built in 1904, it was the second center of automobile production for the Ford Motor Company, after the Ford Mack Avenue Plant.
Ford Piquette Avenue Plant. On April 1, 1904, approximately 10 months after Ford Motor Company was launched, stockholders authorized the purchase of 3.11 acres on Piquette Avenue for $23,500. The site encompassed a city block, bounded by Beaubien Street on the east, Brush Street on the west, and Piquette Avenue on the south.
Today, the Ford Piquette Avenue Plant is a non-profit museum dedicated to the preservation of the birthplace of the Model T and the interpretation and celebration of Detroit’s automotive heritage and spirit of innovation.
Ford Piquette Avenue Plant is the birthplace of the Model T- the most significant automobile of the 20th century. Come walk the floors where the first 12,000 Model T's were assembled.
