Co-owned by one of the spirits professionals credited with creating the cosmo, it follows that the famed NYC favorite would serve inventive cocktails, which also happen to be good.

And in a truly weird switcheroo, Sunken Harbor Club hopefuls have even been spotted waiting for entry down at Gage & Tollner–which is also a little tricky to get into!

- PDT (Please Don't Tell) East Village. $$$$Perfect For:Date Night Impressing Out of Towners. PDT is short for “Please Don’t Tell,” although most people refer to this place as “that bar hidden behind a phone booth in Crif Dogs.”
- Double Chicken Please. Sandwiches. Lower East Side. $$$$Perfect For:Drinking Good Cocktails Late Night Eats. Drinking a beet salad-inspired cocktail doesn’t necessarily sound very sexy.
- Tigre. Bar. Lower East Side. $$$$Perfect For:Drinking Good Cocktails Date Night. Tigre is from the people behind Maison Premiere, an absinthe house and oyster bar that looks as though it was built several hundred years ago.
- Attaboy. Lower East Side. $$$$ Attaboy is located behind an unmarked door on Eldridge Street, but it isn’t especially hard to find, because there’s usually a line of people waiting to get into the walk-in-only spot.
