The Lauren Rogers Museum of Art was built 1923, in loving memory of Laurel Eastman Rogers whose life was brought to an untimely end at the young age of 23. The museum was established in the hope that it would benefit the society and the community as a whole. The museum building is a work of art in itself. The stately exterior gives way to elegant rooms that are tastefully adorned with hand-wrought ironwork and graceful wood paneling. The museum boasts a stellar collection of American and European artwork, rare Native American baskets, and treasures from all around the world, alongside an impressive art history library.
