Hayward Field is a track and field stadium in the Northwestern United States, located on the campus of the University of Oregon in Eugene, Oregon. [1] It has been the home of the university's track and field teams since 1921, and was the on-campus home of the varsity football team from 1919 through 1966 . [ 2 ]
Hayward Field is a world-class track and field facility that weaves its way into the campus fabric in a host of ways. A rebuilt Powell Plaza acts as the main entrance to the stadium at the northeast corner of the site, at the intersection of Agate Street and 15th Avenue.
Standing 10 stories and 188 feet, 8 inches tall, the Tower at Hayward Field depicts images of five icons who have helped define the UO’s legacy. This impressive collection of track and field greats includes 22 NCAA Championships, four Olympic Gold medals, and two Bowerman Award recipients.
