While the San Saba River Nature Park has nice paved walking trails and historical information, this park (which connects to SSRNP) has the same look, but doesn't really have walking trails, but does have lots of family things to do like wide open grassy areas, picnic tables and a playground. Both are close to the river.

Risien Park was a gift from E.E. Risien and the LCRA to the people of San Saba in 1987. The park is bordered by the San Saba River. A section of the river has been cemented in for swimming. The water is slightly chalky. A rope swing provides fun in the deep end.

Jun 10, 2015 · Risien Park offers picnic sites, playgrounds, a pavilion, volleyball courts and a rock amphitheatre along the banks of the San Saba River. On an adjoining property, the city has built a beautiful 18-hole golf course and an RV Park with a well-equipped clubhouse.
