Jun 1, 2023 · This is a great place to stretch your legs, take in the fresh air, and enjoy the beautiful scenery. The trail ends in downtown Portland with shops and restaurants. We tried to come here early on a Saturday morning but it was crowded due to a half marathon.
Old salts should love the Eastern Promenade Trail, as it skirts the shoreline of Portland’s Casco Bay and Portland Harbor. The 2.1-mile paved trail is always within sight of the water and is one of more than 30 trails and greenways in the state’s largest city.
The Eastern Promenade Trail is a 1.8 mile one-way trail that starts at the seaport in Portland and ends near the water treatment plant. Plan on hiking 3.6 miles if you plan to do this whole trail out and back.
